The Salt Creek Wind team has been working to develop this project in Tama County since 2009 and has invested millions of dollars in it. Here are some recent and upcoming milestones:

- Approximately $50.4 million in new tax revenue will be generated over 30 years, which will benefit public schools, roads and emergency services
- Approximately $44 million in landowner payments will be generated over 30 years, which will allow farmers to diversify their income stream and gain financial security
